Beardsley Design Associates - Portfolio - Diven Elementary School Addition

The outdated (1929), pre-kindergarten through fifth grade building is now flexible, spacious, and streaming with natural light. The result is an enhanced learning experience for students and a new source of community pride. BDA’s multi-disciplined staff worked closely and effectively with the school’s building committee. The intense planning effort included considerations for environmental conscientiousness, passive security, flexibility, community use, and a team education model.

Designers removed existing classroom walls, doubling their size to provide more flexible teaching spaces that can be adapted to meet ever-changing teaching methodologies and technology requirements.
