BDA designed the replacement of the telephone and computer cabling system at the 14-story Samuel S. Stratton Veterans Affairs Medical Center. All 11 campus buildings were included in the cable design. This project included the installation of 18 new communication closets, the relocation of the telephone switch room, fiber-optic backbone for voice and data circuits, and Category 5E horizontal cabling for both phone and data from communications closets to phone and data jack locations.
BDA also provided structural design services for the construction of communications closets in empty mechanical shafts, architectural design to access the closets, and mechanical design services to heat, ventilate, and air condition the closets. Minor asbestos abatement work was also required.
