As a licensed professional in civil, structural and fire protection engineering, Guy Garnsey's insights and 40 years of experience are invaluable to the firm, the development of staff, and the retention of clients. As a Principal and former President, he is actively engaged in mentoring Beardsley's future leaders. He eagerly shares his knowledge base through customized training sessions and development of technical standards.
Beardsley's entry into design-build project delivery, a major focus of the firm's present business practice, is a result of Guy's 20-year involvement with military clients and early identification of the new delivery methodology. He continues to enjoy long-term relationships with the Air National Guard, Air Force Research Laboratory in Rome, and General Dynamics / Electric Boat.
Guy serves on the board of the American Council of Engineering Companies of NY (ACEC) and is a lifetime member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
His community involvement includes serving as the Howland Stone Store Museum Vice President and Facilities Chair. He is an avid cyclist and is involved in outdoor garden railroading, which combines his interest in woodworking and civil engineering on a 1:20 scale!
