WISP Concession Building & Pavilion Renovation

Beardsley Architects + Engineers partnered with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation to design a modern concession building that enhances visitor experience while maintaining sensitivity to the natural environment. Replacing a deteriorated facility, the new structure includes a camp store, laundry, restrooms, lifeguard station, and arcade designed for functionality, durability, and comfort.
A large covered pavilion with a fireplace provides shelter and scenic views of the adjacent beach. Integrated site design connects to the playground, improves beach access, and features sustainable infrastructure including drainage upgrades, stone seat walls, and resurfaced parking. The project reflects Beardsley’s commitment to parks and recreation architecture that balances user experience with energy-efficient design.
