Adirondack Style Retail Outlet Center
The Lake Placid Retail Outlet Center is a new 22,000-square-foot block and steel retail facility located on Main Street in Lake Placid, NY. Beardsley Architects + Engineers was tasked with a unique design challenge: to create an Adirondack Great Camp aesthetic that harmonizes with the smaller-scale charm of the surrounding downtown neighborhood.
The resulting retail center design successfully balances a modern, durable commercial structure with architectural details inspired by the region’s historic Great Camps. Thoughtful material selections and rustic design elements help the building blend naturally into the character of Lake Placid’s Main Street, enhancing the shopping experience while respecting the village’s iconic visual identity.
