Sustainably Designed Military Housing Facility in Fort Lee, VA
Beardsley Architects + Engineers provided full design services for a 103,200 sq ft military housing facility built to accommodate 300 soldiers. Located on a three-acre site, the five-story dormitory-style building features double-occupancy rooms with shared bathrooms, organized along double-loaded corridors. Centralized support services include lounges, laundry, computer labs, offices, and training classrooms.
The scope included full site development and demolition of two existing buildings. The project’s early completion was the result of close design-build collaboration and detailed scheduling. Designed for energy efficiency and durability, the building is registered for LEED Silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.
