Green Lakes State Park - Fayetteville, NY

Sustainable Bathhouse & Concessions at Green Lakes State Park

As part of a term contract with the NYSOPRHP, Beardsley Architects + Engineers provided full architectural and engineering services for the renovation of a 1960s bathhouse, concession, and lifeguard building at Green Lakes State Park. The updated design creates a more modern, ADA-compliant facility while referencing the park’s original 1930s architectural style.

The scope included the renovation and reconfiguration of lifeguard offices, first aid space, the concession area, and public restrooms. A new rental room for group gatherings was also incorporated. All improvements were designed to enhance accessibility, increase staff visibility of the beach, and integrate sustainable, cost-effective building materials and systems. Site upgrades included new utility infrastructure, ADA access walkways, beach re-grading, and improved landscaping to better serve seasonal park visitors.
