Custom Shingled Boathouse in the Adirondack State Park

Beardsley Architects + Engineers designed this custom boathouse to complement the historic residential architecture of a nearby lakefront home in Adirondack State Park. Inspired by the shingle cottage style, the design offers a clean, understated interpretation of traditional Adirondack architecture—prioritizing natural materials and timeless proportions over ornate detail.

The two-level structure features four covered boat slips, an upper sun deck, an open-air shelter, and a stone fireplace—creating a practical yet welcoming space for seasonal lake use. Our architectural design team worked closely with the client to ensure the boathouse fit seamlessly within its surroundings while meeting both aesthetic and functional goals.
